The 2-day Gallipoli and Troy Tour is an in-depth tour of the Gallipoli and Troy. Gallipoli is a peninsula bordered by the Aegean Sea and the Dardanelles, which is the Hellespont of the ancient world. It was the scene of one of the bloodiest battles of World War I. 500,000 Allied and Turkish soldiers died on the battlefield from disease or drowning. There are three museums and several cemeteries and monuments, all of which are included in the tour.
Troy was one of the most important cities in the ancient world and the site of the Trojan War between the Achaeans and the Trojans. Multiple excavations have yielded insight into history from 4,000 BC to 300 AD. Our Tour includes 3700-year-old city walls, houses from Troy I ((3000BC-2500BC), the remains of Troy 1 through Troy IX, current excavation sites and much more.
This is an in-depth tour of the Gallipoli peninsula, the site of a major World War battle and of Troy, a much-excavated site which has yielded pieces of history from 4,000 BC to about 300AD.
